Kamchatka Inspectors Apprehend 29 Poachers and Seize Illegal Catch

Fishery inspectors in the Kamchatka region apprehended 29 individuals for illegal fishing activities during patrols across local waterways over the past week. Criminal proceedings are currently under consideration for three of these incidents.

During the enforcement operations, authorities confiscated 50 kilograms of illegally caught salmon – including 8 kilograms of salmon roe – alongside three vehicles and 30 pieces of fishing equipment.

Anti-poaching efforts across the region’s aquatic ecosystems are actively maintained by 24 operational task forces and 28 stationary observation posts to monitor and prevent further environmental violations.
