Bezymyanny volcano has put Kamchatka on high alert

The duty services of Kamchatka have been put on high alert due to the high activity of the Nameless volcano, the press service of the regional government reports.

Residents and guests of the region are advised to refrain from visiting the vicinity of the volcano, which is located about 40 kilometers from the village of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatsky district.

“Ashfall and fluxes are expected, so it will be very unsafe to be there. It is not worth getting closer than 10 kilometers to the volcano,” said Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory.

Earlier it was reported about the increased probability of a strong explosive eruption at Bezymyanny in the next 30 days. Currently, there is an increase in seismic activity on the volcano, an increase in the temperature of the thermal anomaly in the growing dome has been recorded.

The last eruption of the Nameless volcano occurred in July 2024.
