There are plans to build a plant for processing solid household waste in Kamchatka
At a meeting of the commission for state support of investment projects, headed by Chairman of the regional government of the region Evgeny Chekin, the issue of amendments to the large-scale investment project “Creation and development of the Dalny Industrial Park” was considered, reports RAI KAMCHATKA-INFORM.
The implementation of the business initiative is entrusted to the Kamchatka Territory Development Corporation. Alexander Cheklov, Director of the Corporation’s Economic Analysis and Forecasting Service, made a presentation at the meeting.
He informed the meeting participants about the state of the industrial park. A register of Dalny residents has been formed, with which nine agreements on conducting industrial activities have been concluded. Residents mainly intend to create enterprises operating in the field of production of building materials, as well as those engaged in deep processing of organic waste and raw materials.
Three more can join the current residents. Taking them into account, the volume of investments in the created enterprises will exceed 3.8 billion rubles. According to the business plans of the investment projects, it is expected to create more than 340 jobs.
Alexander Cheklov also said that it is planned to develop design documentation for a complex of engineering infrastructure facilities in 2025. The completion of this work will make it possible to send an application to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for Dalny to receive the status of an industrial park at the federal level, which will open up additional development opportunities.
“The need to make changes to the large–scale investment project “Creation and development of the Dalny Industrial Park” is caused by the need to include additional land plots in its composition to accommodate another enterprise on them,” said Alexander Mylnikov, CEO of the Corporation. – In September 2023, at the Eastern Economic Forum, the Government of the region signed an agreement with the Russian Environmental Operator on the formation of an integrated municipal solid waste management system in the region. The agreement provides for the creation of an enterprise for the disposal, neutralization and disposal of MSW using the mechanisms of concession agreements. The production is planned to be deployed on the territory of Dalny using the energy and transport infrastructure created for residents of the industrial park.”
The members of the commission for state support of investment projects voted unanimously for the Corporation’s proposal, taking into account the comments of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky administration. The regional center considers it necessary to include in the design documentation of the Dalny industrial park the formation of a “sanitary protection zone or sanitary protection measures that will reduce the impact of pollution on atmospheric air within the boundaries of the planned territory of low-rise residential development.”
The commission’s decision will come into force after the issuance of a corresponding decree by the head of the region, Vladimir Solodov.
At the meeting, Evgeny Chekin presented letters of thanks from the Governor to Inna Masenkova, Director of the KRKK Investment Project Support Center, Elizaveta Varlamkina, Adviser to the Deputy Chairman of the regional Government, and Dmitry Butenko, Head of the Investment Policy Department at the Ministry of Economic Development of the region. They were awarded for their significant contribution to increasing the business attractiveness of Kamchatka and the region’s achievement of high indicators in the National Rating of Investment Attractiveness of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
