A young bear, orphaned after being attacked by a bear, was sent to a new home. The animal will live in a shelter for wild animals – lion park «Pride» Land.
As reported by IA «Kam 24», in September an adult male tried to tear apart a baby, but at the cost of her life she was protected by a mother bear. The aggressor was driven away by people.
The bear cub had to be treated, she suffered a head injury, was dehydrated and weak.
«There was a small kutyon who weighed 20 kilograms, and three months later she gained weight to 30 kilograms. They fed her exclusively red fish because she did not perceive any other fish. The diet included fruits and vegetables. I personally went to the taiga to buy berries that bears love to eat» – said Andrey Balin, a representative of the animal welfare society «Kind Heart».
The bear was named Vika. In three months she fully recovered and was sent by plane to a shelter. The Elizovsky Zoo provided a cage for transporting the animal and food while waiting for departure, the regional Ministry of Forestry reports.
«The cell is made well. The bear will arrive safely in it, everything has been done for the convenience of the animal: a special feeding tray, air ducts to make the bear breathe comfortably, and the size of the cage corresponds to the size of the bear», – said Alexander Selnitsin, state hunting inspector of the Ministry of Forestry and Hunting of the Kamchatka Territory.
