During raids conducted on the water bodies of the Kamchatka region last week, federal fishery inspectors apprehended 25 individuals violating fishing regulations. This represents a decrease in illegal activity compared to the preceding week, when 41 offenders were detained.
Authorities confiscated 13 pieces of fishing gear from the poachers alongside 21 kilograms of salmon, which included 5 kilograms of roe. The volume of illegally harvested fish seized during this period was five times lower than the amount confiscated the week prior.
Anti-poaching enforcement operations across the regional waterways are currently being maintained by 4 stationary monitoring posts and 13 mobile task forces – a reduction in deployment compared to the 16 stationary posts and 18 mobile groups active during the preceding week.
