Kamchatka increases inspections in nature parks
Tourists in specially protected natural areas are required to show permits, violators of the rules of visiting face fines of up to half a million, Kamchatka.Today reports with reference to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the region.
According to the agency, during the winter-spring tourist season, it was decided to strengthen the staff of the Ministry of teams conducting field surveys of specially protected areas of regional importance. During the raids, officials will join the inspectors of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka network of natural parks, and tourists will be monitored from the ground and from the air using drones.
“I visited the territory of the Vilyuchinsky Nature Park along the route from the road to the Vilyuchinsky waterfall, the so-called Icicle, taking into account the fact that it was snowing in this area, there was no route found. I conducted several surveys of tourists regarding the availability of permits to visit a specially protected natural area. Even taking into account the fact that the permit is issued free of charge, none of the selectively interviewed could present the corresponding QR code! Many people were genuinely surprised that the regime of visiting the territory along the specified route has been changed, and now a permit is required,” said Alexey Yurkov, Deputy Minister and head of the State Environmental Supervision Department.
Until the end of the tourist season, joint raids will, in particular, take place in the Vilyuchinsky, Bystrinsky, Yuzhno-Kamchatsky nature parks and the Lake Nachikinskoye nature Reserve.
Tourists were reminded that the entrance areas of routes in special territories are equipped with warning information displays. Leisure enthusiasts can apply for a visit permit in various ways, including at the directorate of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka network of natural parks, through Public Services and in the Green Button mobile application. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment noted that for violating the regime in nature reserves and sanctuaries, tourists face administrative liability, including a fine of up to 500,000 rubles.
