An initiative is underway in Kamchatka to improve conditions for recreational fishing, one of the most popular types of recreation and traditional fishing for residents and visitors of the peninsula. The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, set the task for the regional Ministry of Fisheries to create and equip specialized areas for amateur fishermen on the Avacha River, which flows in the Yelizovsky district.
During an operational meeting in the government of the Kamchatka Territory, the head of the region stressed the importance of a responsible approach to the implementation of the project. “I ask you to approach the issue of arranging fishing grounds as responsibly as possible. The task is to create several points for amateur fishing in the Yelizovsky district. I ask you to constantly interact with our fishermen and bring the work to the result that people expect,” Vladimir Solodov said, addressing the Minister of Fisheries Andrei Zdetovetsky.
The Minister of Fisheries of the Kamchatka Territory reported on the current progress and plans. According to him, the three most popular locations among fishermen have been identified, which will become pilot sites: “Krivun”, “Plates” and “Stove”. The necessary infrastructure will be created on these sites for the convenience of citizens. In particular, it is planned to build access roads, arrange parking lots and equip special boat descents, which will greatly facilitate access to water and increase comfort during fishing.
Landscaping work has already begun. “Currently, work has already been carried out on the Stove, that is, the shore has been planned and a playground has been made there – our fishermen can see the results of this work,” said Andrei Zdetovetsky. As for the fishing zones “Krivuny” and “Plates”, active preparatory work is currently underway on them, and the development of design solutions is at the final stage. Thus, in the near future, Kamchatka’s amateur fishermen will receive new equipped places for their hobby.
